“DEADLINE” Exhebition: Refrence Your Figures
October 2023

“Reference your figures” represents the cause of my art block when working towards a deadline. In the process of creating when you consume too many inspiration images you can become “blinded.” Unable to think of anything new, stuck in a loop of others work, and running out of time. My piece aims to depict the cyclical nature of this feeling. And after all is done, you’re left to reference you’re figures. Medium: Blue cotton yarn, Sunday angora yarn, made on flatbed knit machine.

Exhebition run by Isquared Gallery

I, Lily Vernon acknowledge and pay my respects to the Woi wurrung and Boon wurrung language groups of the eastern Kulin Nation, where I conduct my studies and professional buisness. I respect their Ancestors, Elders of past, present, and future. Additionally I acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples hold knowledge about textile practices and art techniques, which has been practiced for thousands of generations. On land which was stolen and still remains unceded.
