Lily Rose Vernon (she/her) is an Australian artist and fashion designer based in Melbourne, Australia. She’s in her second year of bachelor of fashion design at Rmit, and has completed a Certificate II in Applied Fashion Design and Technology in 2021.

She became interested in fashion around the age of 10, when her mum and grandma said they could help create one of her sketches in real life. After a day of cutting and sewing on the dinning room table she was hooked. Lily decided she wanted to learn as much as possible about clothes and fashion. Aiming to create clothes that represent the people who wear them. Throughout Lily’s education and sewing endeavours she is constantly working to improve the sustainable aspect of her practices. Aiming to leaving as minimal impact on her surroundings and the environment as possible. She strongly believes that design will be strengthened when sustainability is embraced on all levels of fashion creation and consumption.

I, Lily Vernon acknowledge and pay my respects to the Woi wurrung and Boon wurrung language groups of the eastern Kulin Nation, where I conduct my studies and professional buisness. I respect their Ancestors, Elders of past, present, and future. Additionally I acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples hold knowledge about textile practices and art techniques, which has been practiced for thousands of generations. On land which was stolen and still remains unceded.
